Choose what stays with you while you scan, and where the finished file will come from.

What can stay with you while you scan?
A wireless connection removes a cable. It does not tell you whether capture and processing run on a computer, a phone or the scanner. Choose the equipment you can take to the job, then check how the finished file leaves that setup.
Wireless to a computer
Choose this path if carrying a compatible laptop is fine but a cable would get in the way. The scanner can move freely while the computer remains part of the working setup. Try your actual computer, power arrangement and software.

EINSTAR 2
During capture
Built-in Wi-Fi provides the wireless scanning connection. USB Type-C is an alternative when Wi-Fi interferes.
Processing and delivery
EXStar Hub runs on a compatible computer. Keep that computer in the plan even when the scanner-to-computer link has no cable.
Before ordering
Complete capture, processing and export with the quoted computer and app. A phone view alone does not prove phone processing.
Here, the phone works with a dedicated 3D scanner. For an app using the phone's own cameras or depth sensor, use the phone-versus-scanner guide.
Ask whether the phone runs capture and processing or only displays the computer's screen. A handle or phone mount cannot answer that question. Match the scanner, compatible bridge, phone and app before comparing package prices.

Creality Sermoon S1
During capture
Use the CrealityScan app on a compatible phone with the required, model-compatible Wi-Fi Scan Bridge.
Processing and delivery
The mobile guide covers fusion, meshing and model sharing on the phone. Its separate screen-mirroring mode still uses a computer.
Before ordering
Quote the exact bridge and phone. Demonstrate capture, processing and sharing on that phone, rather than a mirrored computer screen.
A built-in display and battery can let you leave a laptop away from the object. Check the next step separately: the project may still move to another application for detailed processing or delivery.

EINSTAR VEGA
During capture
Scan and perform post-processing on the VEGA itself.
Processing and delivery
The product FAQ says a computer may be needed for more detailed processing. Check the final-file route on the offered firmware.
Before ordering
Ask for a finished mesh to be saved and transferred in the format you will use. Show whether StarVision or a cloud step is involved.
If you also have no laptop or desktop for processing, ask for the entire path: capture the object, create the mesh and save a usable file. Go beyond a live preview, saved project or cloud viewer: reopen the exported file and finish your next task.

Revopoint MIRACO Plus
During capture
Scan, fuse the data and generate a mesh on the scanner using its documented processing controls.
Processing and delivery
The manual documents sharing a selected model to a USB flash drive connected through an adapter. Transfer to Revo Scan on a computer is a separate option for further operations.
Before ordering
Export your chosen model to the drive, then open that exact file in the application you intend to use.
Open the exported file in your intended application and check scale. A mesh that opens for printing is different from a completed edit in mechanical CAD. The scan-to-CAD guide separates those deliverables and provides files for practicing the handoff.
Name the devices at every stage. Write down what captures the scan, what processes it and what delivers the file. Include any computer used out of sight during the demo.
Run a representative project. Use an object with the size, detail and surface that matter to your work. Finish it with the quoted scanner, phone or computer and installed software version.
Save the actual deliverable. Reopen the exported file and perform your intended task. Keep a scan project and an exported mesh separate when checking the result.
Test the connection you will have. If you need to work without internet, check that arrangement too, including any preparation needed before going to the job.
Price the complete setup. Confirm the compatible bridge, phone or computer, power, storage, software and any required service. A scanner-only price does not cover every one of these items.
Use the scanner selector when you also need to match your object, output and budget. Choose a phone, a capture computer or capture on the scanner as separate options, then check processing and export for the same setup.
